Event: 25 August 2013
Location: Tottington High School, Laurel Street, Tottington, Bury, Lancashire, BL8 3LY
The Reg Harris Cyclosportive has already exceeded its target entry but has created extra spaces for cyclists who wish to take part in this inaugural event inspired by Lancashire’s celebrated world sprint champion.
At least 200 riders will ride one of two routes around Reg Harris's hometown of Bury, the more challenging covering 50 miles across the West Pennine hills including Winter Hill and the other 26 miles.
Sports Events Photography will cover the sportive, masseurs have been confirmed for post-ride relief, and food and refreshments ordered for the feed stations and post-ride refuel. In an event that will raise money for several excellent causes, organisers have also arranged a timing system, signage and carefully recce'd the route. Cooksons Cycles will provide mechanical support at the start and finish.
The long range weather forecast for the day is dry with sunny intervals and about 19C - excellent cycling weather in which to enjoy the camaraderie and scenic countryside.
