LATEST: ADVANCED NOTICE OF PROMBLEMS EXPECTED ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON
On Saturday afternoon 7th November, Manchester City are playing a Premiership Football match at the City of Manchester Stadium opposite the Velodrome. This will involve approximately 38,000 spectators entering and leaving the area of Sports City between 13.30 and 17.30. The spectators start arriving in the area from 13.30 and the area becomes congested between 14.15 and 15.00. At 15.00 the roads will be very quiet and clear of traffic, but commencing 16.25 until 17.20 the roads are heavily congested and the access from Alan Turing Way will be closed from 16.45 until 17.10.
No access is permitted from Alan Turing into the site between these times. Team Managers are advised that access will be very difficult between these times and should plan their arrival at the Velodrome accordingly.

The Official Hotel is only a short 5km drive from the venue. The Official Hotel is predominantly reserved for the UCI and other key personnel.
Team Hotels:
The Organisers have reserved adequate rooms in three Official Team Hotels - The Holiday Inn, Jury's Inn and Crowne Plaza - all located in Manchester City Centre and only a short drive from the Velodrome Bookings must be made through the event's Central Reservation Office by completing the Logistics Booking Form (click here to downlaod the form) or contacting Anna Cox, Corporate and Sporting Events Ltd, on +44 121 779 0884, email anna@corporate-sporting.com or fax +44 121 779 0886.
TRANSPORT
The Organisers are happy to provide ground transfers between Manchester International Airport and the official hotels for all Teams. One pick up per team on arrival and one drop off per team on departure will be provided for those Teams advising their arrival details at least 48 hours before arrival. Transport will be provided by the Organisers from Tuesday 3rd November 2009. The cost for this service will be included in the accommodation rates and is specified under ‘Reservations and Payment'. Any National Federation arriving before this date will be charged an additional early pick up fee.
A shuttle service will be provided to and from the Velodrome from the official hotels for training and competition. This service will commence on the morning of Wednesday 4th November 2009. Schedules will be distributed on arrival.
MEALS
Breakfast:
Breakfast will be provided on a buffet basis and is included in the room rate stated below.
Lunch and Dinner:
A meal package will be offered to all members of your team at a cost of £30.00 per day. This will include lunch (with the option of choosing a packed lunch at the Velodrome) and dinner at your hotel. Dinner will be on a buffet basis and will be served at times to suit the training and racing programme. A choice of three main courses including a vegetarian option will be offered at each meal. If you decide to not take up the meal package, please be aware that you will be lodged in a hotel solely on a bed and breakfast basis and will need to make your own arrangements in nearby restaurants. Please be advised that the football season will be underway and therefore restaurants are likely to be heavily booked on Friday and Saturday evening.
