Widening access to cycling

Working together, Shell UK and British Cycling can deliver real change for people across the UK, from different walks of life. With Shell UK’s support, British Cycling has launched Limitless, a new programme designed to break down the barriers people with disabilities face when trying to access cycling.

Limitless aims to help embed para sport into the heart of communities and build a path from grassroots to elite level. With funding from Shell UK, British Cycling is working to create inclusive and accessible environments for riders with disabilities.

Advancing technology and innovation

The partnership is supporting the Great Britain Cycling Team’s cyclists and para-cyclists through the sharing of technology and innovation. Together, Shell U.K. Limited (“Shell UK”) and British Cycling are developing and testing superior lubricants with the aim of helping the Great Britain Cycling Team achieve even more.

Accelerating decarbonisation efforts

The partnership reflects the ambition of Shell and British Cycling to get to net zero as well as encouraging low- and zero-carbon forms of transport such as cycling and electric vehicles. British Cycling is currently developing its first sustainability strategy, covering its business operations and support for the wider sport.

A core focus of the partnership is using Shell UK’s expertise to target areas that can help British Cycling on this journey.
