Do you want to be the next Olympic female endurance cyclist? Were you born in the years 2008 and 2009? Then we have an opportunity for you!

British Cycling is looking for the next crop of talented female track cyclists to take to the boards and continue our proud track record of international success at the Olympic Games, following in the footsteps of Dame Laura Kenny, Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker. If you enjoy sports that are fast, exciting and tactical, British Cycling wants you!

The Talent ID Initiative is now live and aims to identify the next generation of talented young athletes, with those successful going on to join British Cycling’s Talent Development and Performance Pathways.

If you believe you have what it takes, the first step is to sign up here before Friday 28th April and you may be invited to one of our three testing days at velodromes across England throughout May and June.

The testing days will be on:

  • Manchester – Sunday 14th May 2023
  • Derby – Monday 29th May 2023
  • London – Sunday 11th June 2023

You must be born in the years 2008 and 2009 to apply and be eligible for a British passport, but no prior racing experience is required – just the ability to ride a bike!

What does it involve? Each of our testing days will typically be split into three parts, with the first being some physical testing on WattBikes; this is a chance for you to show us what you can do! The day will also include a bleep test for you to show us your endurance potential, before finishing with a chat off the bike to discuss how you can get further involved in the sport of cycling, and give you an opportunity to ask any questions.

So, if you want to have chance at being the next Olympic female track cyclist, now is your time to sign up and see if you’ve got what it takes.
