This December, Scottish Cycling Young People's Panel is determined to keep young people cycling through the Winter!
Over the Summer, we launched our 'Activity Booklets' which went on to reach over 23,000 people. Throughout this month, the Young People's Panel will be focusing in on some of the activities from the booklets and encouraging young people across Scotland to download a booklet and take part.
There will be three sets of activities throughout the week:
Tech Tuesdays
On this day, Sophie from our Young People's Panel will be sharing something new about your bike. This activity will help you learn more about your bike, how it works, and how to keep it moving safely!
1st December -
Try-It Thursdays
Erin is looking for you to try some basic cycling skills on Thurdays. Each week there will be a new video giving you the chance to develop a new skill or challenge yourself to do it even better than before!
Weekend Challenge
Callum, Euan and Ryan have set a challenge for each weekend in December. Watch out for these going live on Saturday mornings!
So how do you take part?
Look out for the posts on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). Tuesdays and Thursdays will appear at midday, and the Weekend challenge will appear at 0800 on Saturdays. All of the activities are targetted at riders from the age that they are able to independently cycle (pedal bike) up to around 10/11 years old. The activities should have Parent/Guardian supervision.
We'd love to see pictures/videos of you taking part. Please tag us on social media and use the hashtag #SCWinterChallenge
The development of the Activity Booklets has been made possible thanks to the support of Digby Brown LLP who have a long association with Scottish Cycling through their annual sponsorship of the Awards and Conference Weekend and support to members as the solicitors acting for British Cycling members in Scotland. Commenting on their support for the activity books, they said:
