Scottish Cycling is delighted to announce the appointment of four new elected directors to the Board following the AGM on Saturday 30 November 2019.
Each of our new directors brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from their respective professional and personal backgrounds, adding breadth and depth of experience to the Board as Scottish Cycling embarks on delivering our new strategy '.
Female representation on the Board has increased as Diane Clayton-Chisholm and Fiona Cockburn join Kathy Gilchrist and Joyce McKellar. Furthermore, all the new members are committed to addressing the gender imbalance within cycling and supporting more women and girls to participate in the sport.

Diane Clayton-Chisholm - West Lothian Clarion
Diane has been cycling all her life, racing BMX from a young age. She is a level 2 cycle coach with Disciple Specific Awards in Road and TT is also a Mountain Bike Leader, leading trips in central Scotland and the Cairngorms for youths and women. When she isn’t championing women’s cycling in Scotland, Diane is a Learning and Development Manager in Public Health and recently graduated with a Masters in Public Administration.
Fiona Cockburn - ACC Velopreda
A Chartered Accountant of 25 years, Fiona brings experience in corporate governance along with a passion for cycling in Scotland. Fiona is a regular cyclist, commuting to work and participating in regular social rides, sportives, audaxes, triathlons, TTs and hill climbs. Although Fiona’s day job involves managing the tax and governance arrangements for a multi-national organisation, she is passionate about the many benefits of cycling, from improving mental wellbeing to developing a sense of adventure.
Nigel Holl - Stirling Bike Club
Nigel brings a wealth of experience from other sporting governing bodies, having led UK Athletics as CEO and sat as a Senior Independent Director with British Curling. A keen cyclist competing across different disciplines, Nigel has been involved with Stirling Bike Club as a volunteer and can often be found commentating at events.
Scott Hutchinson - Dunfermline Cycling Club
Having discovered cycling through commuting to work, Scott soon caught the bug and went on to complete sportives and joined Dunfermline Cycling Club. He is now Chairperson at the club focusing on increasing participation, particularly among women. In his professional life, Scott works in the social and ethical banking sector whilst also volunteering for organisations that have a positive impact on society.
