About British Cycling and Sport England

The Places to Ride programme is dedicated to improving the destinations for cycling within the community; giving people more and better opportunities to ride their bike and to get active.

The programme has been made possible by a £15m legacy commitment from Government as part of the hosting of the 2019 UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire.

The Places to Ride programme is delivered through a partnership of British Cycling, Sport England and the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. This approach has been adopted to create efficiency and ensure effective delivery of the public funding.
