Great Britain Cycling Team’s Hannah Dines was just seconds away from a first-ever world championships medal in Maniago.
The trike rider finished fourth in the women’s T2 race at the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships to match her result from the time trial.
Dines was locked in a battle with Germany’s Jana Majunke for bronze – but the German rider pulled clear to take third place.
Gold went to USA’s Jill Walsh, with Carol Cooke of Australia getting silver.
Craig Collis-McCann couldn’t add to his time trial silver in punishing conditions in Italy.
In high temperatures, Collis-McCann finished sixth in the men’s T2 race – around three minutes behind race winner Ryan Boyle of the USA.
Karen Darke’s world championships ended with an eighth-placed finish in the H3 women’s race as Italy’s Francesca Porcellato completed a double in her home championships.
The action concludes on Sunday with the men’s and women’s C class races as well as the tandems.
