Scottish National 10 Mile Time Trial Championship 2018, Sunday 6th May 2018

Organising Club: Moray Firth CC

Invergordon Leisure Centre, Academy Road, Invergordon, Highlands, IV18 0GH

The National 10 Championships is a hotly anticipated event, attracting many of Scotlands top time trial talents. Last years event was won by Team Scotland Commonwealth Games riders John Archibald and Neah Evans.

The route starts on the A9 at the Delny Muir junction and follows the A9 north, turning at the Calrossie/Nigg roundabout. Riders will then head back along the A9 south to finish approximately 1 mile north of the start.

Riders for the Scottish National 10 Mile Time Trial will roll out from 8am.

Event Organiser, Eric Davidson had this to say about the upcoming Championship event:

"Moray Firth Cycling Club are delighted to be hosting this National Championship, a first within the Scotland North District. The event will see the best of Scotland's time trialist's going head to head on the Tomich to Nigg course which is a classic testers course.  We are delighted to see some of Scotland's Commonwealth Games athletes coming North to take part.  There will also be a strong North of Scotland contingent taking part and I would not rule out a surprise or too come the end of the race.

Ardross Commonwealth Games athlete Kyle Gordon (RT23) will be competing in the race and he will be looking to defend his course record while also challenging for the national championship.  Kyle is certainly to be challenged by form riders Jamie Davidson (Aberdeen Wheelers), Douglas Watson (GTR), David Griffiths (Bioracer - Project Go) and Liam Beaty (Hawick CC).

The in the Women's event Commonwealth Games athlete and defending champion Neah Evans of Storey Racing will be facing strong competition from Vicky Smith (AeroCoach), Lynsey Curran (Dooleys cycles), Amanda Tweedie (RT23) and Laura Nicolson (Dooleys cycles)."
