If you want to keep cycling safe and support road racing in Wales, becoming a CSAS Marshal is for you.

Welsh Cycling have today confirmed four upcoming training dates for January and February 2018 and would like to encourage people to join them in ensuring the roads are safe for our cyclists during the many races that happen across Wales.

The Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) allows Chief Constables to empower accredited employees of Welsh Cycling with authority to stop and direct traffic and pedestrians.

Join our volunteer workforce and be part of the cycling community in Wales.

2018 CSAS Courses

Saturday 20th January

Coleg Gwent, Usk

Saturday 3rd February

DP Police HQ

Saturday 10th February

North Wales Police HQ

Saturday 24th February

South Wales tbc

The CSAS Marshal training is a one day, six hour course led by Gwent police. This training is to be undertaken yearly, unless a marshal attends more than six events in the year. In this instance the training would need to be undertaken after two years..

Once the course is passed, Welsh Cycling and Gwent Police will provide our marshals with:

• High Visibility uniform to be used for CSAS marshalling
• Powers Card – Identification card with unique marshal number

Prior to attending a course, candidates would need to provide/complete the following:

• Gwent Police Vetting Check
• Welsh Cycling application forms, uniform requirements, P46, photo.
