Taking place between November 10 and 12, the event – the second round of this year’s TISSOT UCI Track World Cup series – will boast some of the biggest names in global cycling, competing for their countries to earn qualifying points for next year’s UCI Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.

Great Britain named their squad last week, confirming that the likes of Olympic champions Katie Archibald, Ed Clancy, Elinor Barker, Phil Hindes, Callum Skinner and Steven Burke will all compete.

Also lining up for their respective countries in Manchester will be a host of star names, including Germany’s two-time Olympic and nine-time UCI World Champion sprinter, Kristina Vogel.

Belgian duo Lotte Kopecky and Jolien D’Hoore, who won the world Madison title earlier this year, will be taking to the track, as will the 2016 women’s UCI Road World Champion, Amalie Dideriksen. The Dane took bronze in this year’s Championships in September.

New Zealand's three-time world champion Eddie Dawkins will compete at the Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Manchester

Experienced New Zealander Ed Dawkins – a winner of three world titles and an Olympic silver medal during his career, has been named in the Kiwi squad, while five-time rainbow jersey winner Theo Bos will line up in the orange of the Netherlands.

The international track season got underway with the UEC European Championships in Berlin earlier in October, and a huge number of gold medal winners from that event will compete in Manchester.

Along with Britain’s Ellie Dickinson – who claimed her first senior international title in Berlin – the likes of double world and European champion Benjamin Thomas (France), four-time UCI World Champion Maximilian Levy (Germany), Olympic silver medallists and multiple UCI World Champions Daria Shmeleva and Anastasia Voinova (both Russia) have also been named in their respective squads.
