Report: Welsh Cycling


As part of Project 2018, Welsh Cycling will be organising a Christmas Mountain Bike ride, led by Anthony O'Boyle at Cwmcarn Forest Drive on Friday 28th December 2012. This will be a great opportunity for riders with basic MTB ability to enjoy festive ride over the Christmas holidays.

The ride will be suitable for Youth A and Bs, born betwen 1999 and 1996 who have a basic level of MTB technical ability.

Riders will need to meet at Cwmcarn Forest Drive bottom car park at 10:30am ready to ride at 11:00am. The exact route will be determined on the day, but will last approximately two and half hours, aiming to return to the bottom car park by 2:00pm.

Bikes must be in good working order, with suitable tyres for the conditions (No semi-slicks). New brake pads are also recommended.

What you will need:
Helmet
Winter gloves
Waterproof jacket
Winter clothing
Drink & food
Inner tube
Pump
Multi tool
Optional clear sunglasses

Anthony O’Boyle will be leading the ride and will have some spares and other relevant safety equipment. Riders must contact him by Thursday 27th December 2012 to take part in the ride. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis
