Brian Edwards Died last Tuesday 9th August 2011.
He reached his 80's but has not been well for some time, but when I saw him in Lincoln a few weeks back he was still the same old Brian, plenty of sense of humour and positively looking forward to the future in his new home. Brian was, I believe, the 1st WCU Secretary and stayed in that position for many, many years.
At the same time he was the Organiser of events in Wales, Ras De Cymru, Cefnithin 2 Day, resurected the Carmarthen Track and promoted major events in Wales. He was a Commissaire and an excellent judge, club coach, Team manager, and always supporting club life along with his son Davids racing. He was a guest of honour at the Tawe Riders Cyclo Cross the year before last prior to moving to live with his daughter Olwyn in Lincoln.

I learnt my organising and race envolvment skills through Brian and he was always there to support me with the events such as the biggest race ever held in Wales, The Ras Iechid Da an eight day stage race. Although not directly envolved recently Brian was always a good source info or advice.
Brian was Mr Cycling.

There will be a service at Margam Crematorium on Monday 22nd August at 3.00pm followed by a get together to celebrate Brians Life held at the Twelve Knights Margam Road Port Talbot SA13 2DB
