Tour de France, Stage 1
Wow, back in white!! I honestly didn't expect that today. Obviously I knew I had good legs but I had team orders to fulfill. Luckily, I kept Brad and myself out of trouble until 3km to go. In the final crash I had to unclip and lost a few meters but was able to get back pretty quickly. Eddie was in a good position but he ran out of legs with 500m to go or so. Like I've said, I felt good and gave it everything I had to move up.
It's a massive honor to wear the white jersey again here at the Tour. To wear any jersey is great, after all it is the biggest bike race in the world!!
So it's the TTT next and I can't wait to get out there. We have a great team and are in with a great chance to win. Hopefully we can ride it well, get it all out and hopefully that will be enough. We'll soon see!
Tour de France, Team Time Trial
Well that was close!! Obviously we were aiming to win the TTT and potentially take the yellow, it wasn't to be but I think we can all be happy with our performance. As I've said before, I think technically we were good and we all finished empty which is all we can ask for. Especially because we don't really have our best TTT team here.
Looking at the big picture, we are still in a great position. Brad has gained time on quite a few ‘top 10′ potentials, so it's all good after 2 days... 19 to go!! For sure there will be a few more ups and downs until we reach Paris!
Sprint tomorrow I reckon... My money is on Cav!
