Power of the Bike | Club Activation Fund

Ahead of this Summer's 2023 UCI Cycling World Championship, Scottish Cycling is pleased to announce the launch of our Power of the Bike | Club Activation Fund. The fund is designed to create new or enhance activities that can give individuals the opportunity to experience different types of cycling in the club setting. Breeze Courses

Breeze on or off road, already qualified MtB leader this could also be for you.

We are pleased to be bringing Breeze Champion training courses to new locations in 2023. Courses are open for applications. Sign up now before it’s too late for courses in

Scottish Cycling Youth Development Fund

Scottish Cycling releases a specific fund aimed at strengthening the early stages of performance development. Proposals will be considered that will work in partnership with SC and clubs or cluster of clubs to star up new or improve existing youth development opportunities for riders that want to progress towards national level of racing.

  • Panel meeting 28th April.

Young Ambassadors Programme

Implementation of a Young Ambassadors programme will consist of a number of training sessions delivered by Scottish Sport Futures and will see attendees receive a Level 5 SCQF qualification in “Goal Setting” as well as “Planning Physical Activity Programmes for Young People”. Limited places on programme. For clubs to nominate members and provide us a contact email for the nominated persons parent/guardian and a short paragraph as to why they would benefit from the programme. Please consider who you think would engage and benefit most from this programme.

  • Application Deadline: 31st May
  • Successful Applicants informed by 16th June.

Renewal and New CWPS courses

CWPS is to be renewed every 3 years, and sportscotland are offering learners the opportunity to advance their learning in CWPS. So instead of just repeating CWPS, the learners will have access to renewal modules of various content to renew their training for another 3 years. To access the renewal process learners must complete the renewal training within 3 months of their CWPS certification expiring. Limitless

Introducing Limitless program an inclusive club programme provides cycling opportunities for disabled people, regardless of age, impairment, and ability. BC/SC are working with clubs up and down the UK to break down barriers, inspire change and create more opportunities for disabled people. Whether you wish to try cycling for the first time, or you are an experienced rider looking to take your cycling to the next level our network of Limitless Clubs will have an opportunity for you.

Ride The Worlds

SC is an Official Activation Partner of the World Championships and will deliver it’s Ride the Worlds programme. The first component is ‘Race the Worlds’, a series of regional qualifiers with the top competitors racing a final at the actual venue used for the CWC. And the second is ‘Experience the Worlds’ which gives people across Scotland the opportunity to try cycle sport. Scottish Cycling launches Ride The Worlds programme ahead of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships (britishcycling.org.uk)

Try MTB in 2023

To celebrate the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, we are offering free coaching sessions and race entry for Youth MTB riders new to racing at each SXC series round in 2023. Sessions are open to youth age riders who have not races at SXC level before. The opportunity is open to those that have core MTB skills born between 2007 and 2010. Relevant dates are

  • Nevis Range on 23rd April
  • Lochore on 21st May
  • Cathkin on 4th June
