Scottish Cycling Alba Series Round 5 Report: Billy Warnock Memorial

The final round of the Scottish Cycling Alba Series took place at the weekend (Sunday 31st July) as part of the Billy Warnock Memorial Road Race.

The race with took place near Grangemouth in Stirling was windy, tough, and had a steep climb - which had to be tackled 8 times in the 78 mile race.

David Lines (Wheelbase Altura) took 3rd place, securing those well-earned points to secure an Alba Series victory.

He was pipped to the post by Charlie Tanfield (Planet X-Northside Cycling) and Ben Hethering (Planet X-Northside Cycling) who took 1st and 2nd place. Planet X- Northside Cycling had four out of their five finishing riders in the top ten.

The event which was run by Falkirk Bike Club also incorporated the Scottish Cycling East & Central Regional Road Race Championships.  Andrew Scorey (Berwick Wheelers CC) took that title, coming in 16th.
