British Cycling this week confirmed the team of mountain bikers who will represent the Great Britain Cycling Team at the UEC European Mountain Bike Championships taking place in Chies D'Alpago, Italy from 20 - 26 July.

Olympic podium rider Grant Ferguson from Peebles has made selection, as has 17 year old Mark McGuire from Perth. Scot Iain Paton will also be riding in the under-23s.

Grant represented Scotland in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last year where he finished in fifth place in the men's cross-country race at Cathkin Braes Country Park.

They will be joined by senior academy rider Alice Barnes. Olympians Liam Killeen and Annie Last have also been called up to represent the Great Britain Cycling Team.
