South West Regional Road Race champion, George Pym (Spinal Rotor Primal), made sure that it was a home win in the E/1/2 race at Barnstaple Criterium on Friday night.

With both Spin Rotor Primal and UK Youth fielding strong team it was James Lowsley-Williams (UK Youth) who took control of the race around the technical closed circuit race from the start

Pym was snapping at his heels throughout, however, joined by Adam Brittan (High Wycombe CC) and James Williams (Spin Rotor Primal).

With substantial primes on the line, the race was a stop-start affair until Lowsley-Williams pushed the laws of gravity a little too much and ended up taking a tumble.

Luckily though, he was not too badly injured and got back on after taking a lap out.

The attacks kept coming but as they swept through the final corner it was Pym, aged 19, from Exeter who took the honours ahead of Lowlsey-Williams. Williams claimed third.
