William Stokes (Pedal Power RT) powered his way to his first ever victory in the 44-mile 4th category Lothian Flyer RR around Stobo, Peebles.

Stokes, aged 47 and from Lanark, only started racing this season and his best position before the race was 4th in SWSCP Dalbeattie Classic.

He powered to victory ahead of the 41 finishers and took the Lothian Flyer Cup ahead of Bair Martin, from Falkirk in second place and David Stephen (Falkirk Bicycle Club) finishing third.
