TT: Irvine turns the tables in Caithness 10

Third in the previous day’s ‘25’, Calum Irvine (Cairngorm CC) stepped up his bid for overall honours in the Caithess Festival of Cycling with a narrow two-second victory in the second event of three, a 10-mile time trial based on Thurso.

Irvine clocked 22-49 to edge out the promoting club’s Andrew MacLeod wIth third place going to Gregor Grant (Moray Firth CC) in exactly 23 minutes.

Winner of the first event, Callum Finlayson (Forres CC) had to settle for fifth place in 23-012 but held onto his aggregate advantage.
