TT: First blood to Finlayson in Caithness Festival

First blood in Caithness CC’s three-event Festival of Cycling went to Forres CC veteran Callum Finlayson, who covered the Thurso course in 58-50 for a winning margin of over a minute in the Mack Mowat Memorial 25-mile time trial.

The only other rider inside the hour was second-placed Kevin Lackie (Moray CRT), 59-54, while Callum Irvine (Cairngorm CC) was third, another 32 seconds off the pace.

Deeside Thistle’s Chloe Fraser was the fastest of the women with 1-10-04, 48 seconds quicker than her nearest rival, while Edward Fletcher (Cairngorm CC) was best youth and Roger Sewell was top veteran on standard, the Ross-shire Roads CC rider having a plus on his age standard of 10:33.
