Youth had its day in the eighth round of the East Midlands Cycle Racing Thursday-night series on the Mallory Park motor racing circuit on Thursday.

15-year-old Ollie Peckover (Nottingham Clarion CC) stepped up to lead home a 64-strong field of third and fourth categories ahead of Jacob Kelly (Biketreks Racing Academy), 17.

Third place went to Leicester’s Ian Taylor (unattached), a former Wessex division junior road race champion who is in his third comeback season after taking a ten-year break.
