Location: Mountbatten Circuit, Portsmouth
Event: 17 April 2013

On a dry windy evening at the south cost track Dave Creeggan (Pedal Heaven) won from a strong group of riders that managed to get a lap on the bunch.

After 15 minutes of racing out of the fifty minutes plus five laps race Dave along with fourteen others soon built up a strong lead and then continued to push on at the front.

The group soon split into two as the pace increased and this left seven in the front group and these soon got a lap on the bunch.

The group consisted of Jon Dibben (100 Per Cent ME), Justin Hoy (Felt Colbornes Hargroves RT), Al Murison (Equip CMI), Toby Neave (VC St Raphael) and Phil Reynolds (Peter Hansford RT) and Creeggan.

As the race neared the end Dave led out the sprint on his own to finish ahead of team mate Lewis Atkins, Justin Hoy and Al Murison.

The earlier third cat race saw a pigeon bring down a large group mid race. With four riders clear by half a lap a large ‘pop’ could be heard and riders falling down in a heap. A pigeon had flown out of the hedgerow, causing one rider to brake hard as it hit his wheel and the rest tumbled into him.

When the race restarted the four leaders were given back their advantage and they even managed to build on it and they held it until the end. The four riders away before the crash were eventual winner Mike Ford (SRAM), Thomas Goodyer (PNECC), Paul Helyer (Blazing Saddles) and Luke Stace (i-team CC).

When the remainder of the bunch came in it was lead across the line by George Moore (i-team CC).
