Velocity WD-40’s junior rider Andy Leigh racked up a win in the Paramount CRT Cycles Spring Road Race in Shropshire on Sunday, leading from Richard Bussell (Beacon Road CC) and Tony Kiss (Dynamic Bicycles UK/RPC).

The race was contested in a tough mix of a cross wind and rain and of the 67 riders that lined up for the start, only 21 went the distance.

The field broke up regularly and at one point it was split into four groups. But the top three were always at the head of the race with Tony Kiss pushing the leaders along.

And it was Kiss that led as the riders approached the final climb but Leigh pinched the lead from him on the ascent and held on for victory.
