Road: Sewell opens his account in Surrey

STARTING his fifth season of racing, Paul Sewell (Bigfoot CC) celebrated his maiden victory when he led in an 11-strong front group in the 64-mile Surrey League event for second and third category riders on the Dunsfold circuit.

The Orpington 35-year-old denied Rob Sharland (Kingston Wheelers) a win for the host club with Jules Birks (VC de Londres) taking third spot.

Junior Jamie Francis, 17, lead a clean sweep of the first three places for London Dynamo in the supporting race for third categories, also claiming his first win at the expense of clubmates Rob Reid and Riko Sibbe.
