Road: Lake steps up to top of podium at Hog Hill

Following a number of near misses, Owen Lake (Cambridge CC) stepped up for an overdue win in the 11th round of East London Velo’s Hog Hill Summer Series.

The 19-year-old, from Saffron Walden, outsprinted Timothy Butt (Maldon & District CC) and Richard da Silva (Stevenage CC) – both winners of earlier rounds – after 25 laps of the Redbridge circuit in Essex.

Lee Valley CC’s Trevor Whittock took first place in the category three and four race, leading from James Local of London Dynamo.
