SECOND in the opening round back in May, Mark Cotton (BC Private Member) went one better as he stepped up to win the tenth event in Scunthorpe Poly CC’s series at Blyton.

After 50-km of racing the outcome came down to a two-man sprint, and 25-year-old Cotton got the better of breakaway companion Phil Malt (VC Lincoln) with Julian Pearson (Vanillabikes.com) winning the bunch sprint for third place 51 seconds later.

Robert Harper of Aire Valley RC took victory in the Youth category A, B and C race, leading from David Bolland of Liverpool Mercury RC.

In the C and D category race it was Lincsquad’s Max Poole who was first over the line.
