Dozens of talented young riders took part in the latest round of the Hove Park Youth Series in Brighton on Friday evening as the monthly series continued to attract riders from across the region.

Many riders have shown great improvement, while others have proved consistent performers across the three rounds so far.

VC Jubilee’s Oliver Moors took victory in the Under-16 Boys’ 12km race, improving from third spot in round two. Team ASL360 rider Henry Parnell repeated the second spot he had secured in round two.

And Spencer Thomas (Preston Park YCC) continued to show improvement, having finished seventh in the opening round and fourth in round two, he moved up to third in Friday’s race.

Round one winner Zak Corum-Haines (VC Jubilee) repeated his victory in the latest round, getting the better of Preston Park YCC rival Isaac Wright while Sam Booth (Preston Park YCC) repeated the third spot he secured in the first round in May.

Amy Smith (VC Jubilee) made it three wins out of three rounds with victory in the Under-14 Girls category, while Rosie Ford (Eastbourne Rovers CC) was fastest Under-12 girl.

In the 6km Under-12 Boys race, Noah Ridgeway-Brown (Preston Park YCC) made it a hat-trick of victories when he beat VC Jubilee’s George Sloan to the win, the second time Sloan has been runner-up. And South Down Velo’s Oscar Warrington stepped up from fourth last time round to finish third.

Sam Buchanan (Preston Park YCC) won the Under-10 Boys race, improving from the second spot he took in round two, while his team-mate Freddie Newman took second. The winner of this category in the first two races, Archie Sloan (VC Jubilee) had to settle for third this time.

Preston Park YCC’s Samuel Jacques continued his dominance of the Under-8 Boys category with a third consecutive win, beating round two runner-up Ferdie Parsons (VC Jubilee) again while another VC Jubilee rider, Alex Harvey, was third.
