Bernard Sulzberger stormed to victory in the East Midlands Championships with the Raleigh-GAC rider leaving a gap of around 20 seconds behind him.

The race started with a group of 14 breaking away from the gun, pulling many of the stronger riders with it.

By the bell lap, the group had been reduced to just five, with two minutes separating them and the rest of the field.

Australian Sulzberger broke away towards the end of the lap leaving the four remaining front runners to battle it out for second in a sprint finish - George Handley of Cycle Premier securing it.

In the category 3/4 race, it was Sheffrec’s Will Glover who took the win. On a fast course, the race was decided by a sprint finish which Glover took by just a wheel.
