Report: Snowdon Sports

Surviving from an original five-man break, Gavin Moore (Pro Cycle Hire UK RT) proved strongest in an uphill sprint to win Haverhill Wheelers’ 50-mile Ed Taylor Memorial Road Race in Suffolk.

Stowmarket-based Moore, 25, got the better of Scott Cousins (Maldon & Distrcit CC) after ten laps of the Thurlow circuit to claim his first victory since June 2010.

The two leaders came in a minute and a half clear of third-placed Patrick Schils (Velo Schils-Interbike RT) and Kieran Brady (City Cycle Centre.com), who went away from the main pack in pursuit once the rest of the early break had been caught as the wind and chill conditions took a toll.

Results:

1 Gavin Moore (Pro Cycle Hire UK RT) 2-05-00
2 Scott Cousins (Maldon & District CC) same time
3 Patrick Schils (Velo Schils-Interbike RT) at 1-30
4 Kieran Brady (City Cycle Centre.com) same time
5 Billy Whenman (PM Racing) at 2-00
6 Ben Lamb (Wilier/Live To Ride
7 Liam Stones (Team Corley Cycles)
8 Tom Gallacher (Metaltek-Scott)

10 Daniel Young (Glendene CC) all same time
