Location: Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth
Event: 11 April 2012

Justin Hoy (Felt Colbornes) took his second win of the new season at a rain swept Mountbatten centre just ahead of Nick Baker (Zappi’s Cycling Team) and Harry Bulstrode (Peter Hansford Cycles).

On a cold and wet evening a group of nine riders slowly pulled out a gap and increased it until they were safely in the bunch once more. It was a very fast pace to the race with the front group averaging 29mph in order to form the breakaway.

There were several attacks in the early part of the race with several small groups going away but on each occasion each one was pulled back. At the half way point the group of nine started to form at the front as one by one riders got away to form the group. The nine riders at the front were Justin Harry, Nick, Harry Latimer (Dream CC), Will Stephenson and Toby Neave (Primera /Specialized), Tom Smith and Lee Smith (Felt Colbornes) and Henry Newbury (GWR Team) before Hoy sprinted to victory.
