Gavin Thomson of Glasgow Nightingale CC took victory in the Fenwick APR, leading from Norman Gillan (Squadra Porcini) and Calum Foster (Team Leslie Bike Shop).

The 36-year-old Glaswegian rider set off in the second group and picked his way through the field to catch the leading pack coming up to the end.

Thomson finished with aplomb, powerfully driving up the uphill finish after coming out of the final corner on what was a perfect day for cycling with a pleasant 20 degree temperature and cool breeze blowing over the circuit.
