Team IG – Sigma Sport official presented its 2012 squad at the IG headquarters in London on Friday, with Dan Lloyd, Dan Craven and Steven Burke joining the 12-rider line-up as the team targets success in Britain and around the world.

IG has joined forces with Sigma Sport to support the team for the next two seasons, with manager Matt Stephens building a balanced squad able to compete aggressively in road races, criteriums and on the track. IG also sponsors Team Sky, the IG Markets London Nocturne race, the IG Markets Pro Cycling Index and the leader’s jersey at the Tour of Britain.

The British-based UCI Continental team will make its international debut at OCBC Cycle Singapore criterium on 2 March and then target success in the Premier Calendar races, the Halfords Tour Series city centre criteriums and the Tour of Britain. Stephens has also secured an invitation to the Tour of the Battenkill in the USA and intends to compete in Europe whenever possible.

Dan Lloyd, Dan Craven, Simon Richardson and Wouter Sybrandy will lead the team during 2012, with Steven Burke, Tom Murray, Steve Lampier, Tom Last, Simon Gaywood, Jake Hales, Peter Hawkins and Andrew Griffiths completing a strong and talented squad.

Team manager Matt Stephens said: “The team has got stronger and stronger in recent years and with IG on board, we can now dream about and work towards targeting bigger races. We’ve got two Olympians in Steven Burke and Dan Craven, riders for every kind of race and a figurehead like Dan Lloyd who can help our talented young riders develop. I raced with a certain attitude and style and I think these guys are the same. It’s not only about being successful but about racing with panache and style.”
