Preview: Bath Road Junior Road Race

Alistair Slater (Hargroves Cycles) current leader of the Junior National series and National Junior champion Dan Pearson (Port Talbot Wheelers) head the field for the 13th Bath Road Junior Road Race the penultimate round of the competition which is held on the tough Cublington Circuit near Milton Keynes starting at 11.00 a.m. on Sunday 24th July.

A clash with the European track championships has resulted in the withdraw of a number of top riders after the closing date but 3rd in the series Luke Grivell-Mellor (Mid Shropshire Wheelers), 4th Alex Peters (CC Hackney) both ride as does 2nd in the national championships Jim Lewis (Glendene CC).

The race has attracted 11 teams entered including a team of three from Spanish team Beste-Alde Orue Eskola, the Glendene CC are aiming to claim the team prize as they did last year.

The race currently has a full field of 80 with two reserves.

Previous winners include Tom Southam, Geraint Thomas, Alex Dowsett and Luke Rowe.
