The third race of the Northants Cycle Racing Association Summer Handicap series was held on June 14 over 4 laps of the 7mile Woodwalton circuit. The second group on the road rapidly ate up the long markers' 4 minute advantage and those groups worked very well together to stay clear of the chasers.

The winner of the 12 up sprint, in 1.16.08 was Gary Wallis of VC Rutland followed by club colleague Jack Frisby with Tim Pennell of St Neots CC in 3rd place. Next came VC Rutland's Jonny Lloyd followed by Paul Simpson of Arbis/Roy Pink Cycles, Owen Rogers of the host club St Ives CC, David Robinson and John Hardwick of Kettering CC, Chris Begley of Welland Valley CC with Ian Dick of Rockingham Forest Wheelers making up the top 10.
