Team wallis_CHH have held a season's launch in an event that was attended by the team's riders, officials, sponsors and followers. The evening's occasion, which was held at Wallis Cycles in Higher Walton, was a chance for cycling enthusiasts to meet some of this season's squad with only Harry Tamfield, Jacob Regan and Matthew Holmes unable to attend, due to them being invited to attend a training camp held by the Great Britain Squad

Team Manager Martin Wallis was quick to recognise the importance of similar "off the bike" events. "Occasions like this are important to us. We work very hard with the riders to give their careers on the road the best possible chance of succeeding. However we know that without the help of our support staff, sponsors, friends and family and followers, we would face an almost impossible task," said Wallis. He then went on to add, "Days like today are an important tool. It helps up keep the morale high amongst all the parties that have an interest in our project."

team wallis-chh was formed in 2008 with the aim of harnessing the ability of youth and junior riders through a structured development scheme. This means taking some of the North West's best young talent and providing them with coaching, sports nutrition, logistical backup, mechanical support and financial backing. They are also providing them with team bikes, kit and testing to the riders.

The event was held the day before some of the teams riders were to travel to Dumfries and Galloway, where they are to take part in The Tour Doon Hame, arguably the second biggest race in Britain and certainly one of the most prestigious. It saw them compete against some of the country's top professional riders and they completed a tough weekend by being the only none professional team to finish the race.
