Report: NCRA Spring Handicaps Round 5

The 5th race of the Northants Cycle Racing Association Spring Handicap Series was over five laps of the technically difficult six mile Southwick course. This handicapping once again provided a very exciting finish with the scratch group catching the long markers for 11 minutes at the bottom of the hill to the finish.

Scratch riders took the first three places with Dave Palmer of Renault Rotor Colbert RT first home in 1.21.16, closely followed by Dave Langlands of Fenland Clarion CC and Jamie Scott of Renault Rotor Colbert. Justin Garon of 45 RC was fourth, followed by Sam Brogan of Welland Valley CC, series leader Matt Garfield of Fenland Clarion CC, Nick Horder of Welland Valley CC, Gregg Payne and Hugh Boyle of Rockingham Forest Wheelers, with Jack Peterson of Numplumz Mountain Bikers taking tenth place.
