Final Standings in the West Midlands Road Race League 2010

The West Midlands road race league, for 2/3/4 category riders, is now in its second year and this year 45 riders scored points in the nine counting events. The Halesowen A&CC is the top regional club winning both the individual and team competitions.
Alistair Clay has been at the top of the league from start to finish. He scored all his points in the first four races, including three consecutive third places, finishing with 70 points.
The race for second place was very close with Mike Jones of the Paramount CRT on 60 points, Steven Allen of Kenilworth Wheelers CC on 59 and Conor O'Brien of the Solihull CC on 58. Jacob Tipper of the Halesowen A&CC had the most scoring rides with five.
In the team competition, the supremacy of the Halesowen A&CC was underlined by their overall points score which, at 251, was more than twice at of the runners up, the Solihull CC on 103. Behind these two, the Paramount CRT and Wolverhampton Wheelers tied for third place with 83 points. Thirty seven clubs scored points.
The development league for 3/4 cat riders attracted 32 scoring riders with Ryan Ballard of Team Endura Thule coming out on top after wining rounds four and five. He was closely followed by Conor O'Brien, who scored 27 points before being upgraded to a second cat licence. Mark Hammond of the Stourbridge Velo was third with 18 points.
