There was another large entry of 315 competitors for round six of Team Royal London 360 Isle of Man's youth league, staged at the NSC in Douglas last Tuesday night.
 
In the novices class Edward Teare notched up another emphatic victory, taking the chequered flag well clear of Sophia Littlewood, who was a safe second. Harvey Coole beat Mia Littlewood to the line for third and Ryan Blair pipped the fast finishing Sam Cunningham for fifth. Albert Kessler held off Amy Quayle to grab seventh and Joel Garrett edged out Jamys Christian for ninth place.
 
There was a three-way battle for the honours in the born 2005 & later age group, with Niall Colquitt getting the better of Harry Kneen and Nathan Cannell to score maximum points for the second time in the series. Top girl Mairi Harrison was a lonely fourth and Liam Smith kept a six-strong chasing group at bay to claim fifth. Newcomer Jacob O'Boyle was an impressive ninth.
 
After being held up by back markers, Dillon Dowson came from behind to edge out Zac Walker for the top slot in the born 2004 event. Ben Boyle outgunned Ralf Holden for the final place on the podium and James Devereau got past Joshua Dudley and Nathan Slack on the final lap to secure fifth spot. Cameron Dudley, Mia Worthington and Cian Gell completed the top ten.
 
Percy Hampton had to shake off a determined challenge from Jake Wilson before completing his fourth success of the season. Third placed Jonty Bregazzi managed to stay clear of a closing Matthew Black and Jack Christian had the upper hand over leading girl Darcy Cain in the tussle for fifth. Jack Collister took seventh ahead of chasers Thomas Young, Arron Ramsey and Ryan Quirk.
 
Retaining his unbeaten record, Charlie Gibson scored another fine solo win in the born 2002 category. Will Corkill got away from James Harrison and Nicholas Kissack to snatch second place, while Aaron Lund left Blae Cain behind to grab fifth. Wilfy Kermode outsprinted Sam Corlett for seventh and Corrin Leeming rode clear of Caitlin Christian and Tom Kermode for ninth.
 
Max Walker got an early lead in the born 2001 race and was never challenged. Runner-up Juan Kneen was left to chase on his own after Tyler Cain took a tumble on the penultimate lap. Adam Scarffe led Cullen Gell and Tosh Teare home for third, with sixth placed Emma Draper beating Chloe Crellin for the girls' prize.
 
In the born 2000 class Ben Christian and Thomas Bostock escaped from a leading group of seven riders, with Ben getting the verdict in the final sprint for the line. Adam Kelly overtook Sam Batey, Lucas Mudie and Joseph Corkish in the dash for third and newcomer Ruby Kennedy was the first girl in ninth spot.
 
Matthew Draper dropped Breeshey Cain on the second lap to pick up the spoils in the born 1999-97 class. Breesha Quirk was third followed by Liam McCann, Abby Quirk and Alex Cain, who rounded off the top six leader board.
 
The two racing bike events ended another action packed night of competition. Owen Dudley outsprinted Michael Moss, Matthew Draper, William Draper, Dan Watterson, Conor Davies and Callum Clague for the honours in the under 12's.
 
Jake Kelly won the under 16's after a hard fought fight with main rival Alex Haddock. Glen Vine's Nicholas Corlett was third ahead of top under 14 riders Jamie Dudley and Matthew Davies. An aggressive Jamie Everitt did very well to breakaway from the following group and grab sixth.
