Team Herbalife/Wheelbase.co.uk's Team Launch

The Herbalife/Wheelbase.co.uk's team launch was held at The Crooklands Hotel in Cumbria last Sunday, February 28 and on hand to present them to the media was Eurosport's Mike Smith.

The team started the day with a photo shoot in the grounds of the spectacular setting of Leighton Hall where the team's new bikes were presented to the riders by Wheelbase.co.uk Director, Toby Dalton.

After the team's photo shoot, the riders took the opportunity to try out their new bikes in the quiet lanes around Leighton Hall. They then moved on to the Crooklands Hotel for the official team launch where they met their principle sponsors Martyn and Karen Farmer who are Herbalife Independent Distributors. Also present were the team's other sponsors.

Toby Dalton (Wheelbase.co.uk), Karen and Martyn Farmer (Herbalife Independent Distributors), Graham Theobold (TheBodyRehab), Simon Bradley (Shotz) and Ken Jones (Bio-Racer).

Mike Cotty who rides for the team and is also Cannondale’s European Brand Manager, presented the new Cannondale SuperSix to the audience, talked over the finer points of the design and went someway to demonstrating that it is 'about the bike'.

The team in 2010 has thirteen full time members including an Irish international rider. The three junior members of the team, which includes the North West Junior Champion, will compete in the British Cycling Junior  National Road Race Series in 2010. The team also has an eye on the future and has two development riders within their ranks.

During the 2010 season, the team are planning on riding all of the British Cycling Premier Calendar Series events and have been invited to three high profile Irish races. They have also had invites to events in northern France and Belgium and will be competing in the Scottish Super 6 series. With all their support, the team are keen to get racing in Edinburgh at the Gifford Road Race and then the first round of the Premier Calendar, The Tour of the Reservoir.

The team would like to thank all their sponsors for their support for the coming year. They would also like to thank the staff at The Crooklands Hotel; Suzie Reynolds, her family Lucy and Danny Arthurs and their son Sebastian, for their use of Leighton Hall.
