Royal London 360 Isle of Man Youth League Prize Presentation

The Villa Marina in Douglas, Isle of Man was packed to capacity for the recent prize presentation of Team Royal London 360's 2009 youth league.

Guests of honour Steve Wright and Karen Wilson from Royal London were kept busy handing out the medals and prizes to the 300 plus competitors who were present.

All the league's final overall positions were revealed on the night, with the winners' yellow jerseys going to Alex Butterworth, Chloe Comaish, Zac Walker, Mia Worthington, Percy Hampton, Darcy Cain, Charlie Gibson, Blae Cain, Max Walker, Amelia Sharpe, Luke Murray, Ciara Sowerby, Conor Davies (2 classes), Eleanor Davies (2 classes), Jamie Dudley, Laura Kinley, Matthew Bostock, Victoria Kinrade, Jake Kelly, Anna Christian, Thomas Mazzone and Lucy Johnson.

The recipients of the club's prestigious annual awards were also disclosed. Matthew Bostock picked up the George Wilson £150 bursary for his efforts in winning two British national youth championship titles. He also received a special gift and cake to commemorate his achievements.

Conor Davies was awarded the Peter Buckley cup as the best young prospect and Thomas Mazzone retained the James Berry trophy as the club's under 16 champion.

For the second year in succession, Anna Christian was awarded with Marie Noon trophy for the most impressive girl and Nicholas Corlett was handed the Steve Hislop cup as the most improved rider of the year.

Finally, Jake Kelly was presented with the coveted Alex Forrest cup, previously won by Mark Cavendish, and the £500 Stuart Quayle memorial bursary in recognition of an outstanding season, which included a second place overall and three stage wins in the Mayo International Youth Tour in Ireland.

A total of 583 competitors took part in the 2009 league, with an average of 266 riders turning out for each of the eighteen rounds completed.
