This weekend Britain’s best road riders descend on Lincoln for the opening round of this year’s National Road Series, and we’re delighted to be working with Monument Cycling and The British Continental to help fans get closer to the action.

Throughout this year’s series Monument Cycling will be providing on-the-ground social media coverage and race clips, following a successful partnership covering this year’s Cyclo-cross National Trophy Series and National Cyclo-cross Championships, through which our content was viewed more than 1.2 million times and reached an audience of more than 1.9 million.

Long-standing supporter of the domestic scene, The British Continental, will provide race previews and reports for all rounds of the series, helping to tell the story of the season and provide unrivalled insight into the teams and riders battling it out for podium places.

The collaboration forms part of our wider work to raise the profile of the sport, as set out in the long-term plan for road racing we published in 2021, which committed to collaborating with specialist UK cycling media to explore ways to collectively grow the reach and exposure of road racing in the UK.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Rapha Lincoln Grand Prix presented by Pro-Noctis, British Cycling’s Head of Sport and Major Events, Jonathan Day, said:

“We’re delighted to be working with the teams at Monument Cycling and The British Continental to enhance our coverage of this year’s National Road Series, helping us to tell the stories of our races, teams and riders and bring new fans and riders into our sport.

“Our national series and championship events continue to be a brilliant shop window for our sport, and we know that our content and coverage has an important role to play in helping us to reach a wider audience and deliver real value for our event organisers, teams and sponsors.

“While there is always more work to do, I’m really pleased with the progress we’ve made in this area across the disciplines over the past 12 months, which is crucial to our work to support the sport’s recovery from the challenges presented by Covid-19 over the past two years.

“Both Monument Cycling and The British Continental have quickly become cornerstones of the road cycling community, and we’re looking forward to working alongside them through what is set to be a busy and enthralling calendar of racing.”
