Return of the Bike Breakfast

Return of the Bike Breakfast

British Cycling are bringing bike breakfasts to commuters in the north west this month in a bid to encourage more people to cycle to work more often.

Organised in partnership with the START campaign, a national initiative to promote and celebrate sustainable living, we'll be highlighting the benefits of cycling and encouraging more people to ride to work. There will be breakfast events between 8.00am and 10.00am in the centre of Burnley (at the bandstand on St James' Street on Thursday 15th September), Preston (at Winckley Square Gardens on Wednesday 21st September) and Blackburn (at the front of the town hall on King William Street on Friday 30th September).

What's a bike breakfast? Check out our video from when we dropped-in on rush-hour Manchester back in 2010.

So if you're in any of these towns on these dates, why not stop by on your bike, have a chat with other cyclists, and grab a coffee and a continental-style breakfast. Local police will be on hand to postcode stamp bikes and advise on security, and Kelloggs are kindly supporting the events.
