Charity Riders on 5 Nations Fundraiser
On 20th August 2009, Mike Hughes and Rich Cooper will set off from Twickenham Rugby Stadium on a 10-day bike ride around Great Britain, to raise money for two charities - Help for Heros and the Countess of Chester Hospital (Haematology & Oncology Suite Fund).
During the 1000 mile ride, they will visit each of the 5 Home Nations’ stadia in London, Edinburgh,Belfast, Dublin and Cardiff, before ending their journey at Chester Rugby Club.
Mike, who is raising money for Help for Heroes said
"I hope to raise enough money on this ride to make a significant contribution to Help for Heroes, but - more importantly - I would like to raise the profile of this outstanding organisation and make more people aware of the diffucult situation some soldiers face when they return from war.!
Mike's ride partner Rich Cooper is raising money for the Countess of Chester Hospital after their stirling work they did with his Grandfather:
"The care and attention he recieved, especially in the Haematology and Oncology Unit, was second to none. All the staff were extremely positive and supportive not just to my Grandad, but to us all in this difficult time."
