British Cycling has confirmed that Rhyd-Y-Felin, North Wales, will host the 2017 British Cycling National Downhill Championships.

The championships will take place over the weekend of July 22-23, with Greg Williamson and world champion Rachel Atherton expected to defend the titles which they won in Llangynog last summer.

Borderline Events will again deliver the championships, after being successful in the tender process for a fifth consecutive year.

Mike Marsden, of Borderline Events, said:

“After the success of the British Cycling National Downhill Championships in 2016, the team at Borderline Events is proud that we have been chosen to deliver the most prestigious event on the downhill calendar for 2017.

“It’s great to know that British Cycling has the confidence in our team to continue delivering the top UK event and you can be assured that we will work tirelessly to put on an event worthy of such a title.”

The confirmation of the National Championships venue follows the announcement of the dates and locations of the 2017 Downhill Series, which can be found here.
