The third round of the men’s HSBC UK | National Circuit Series – the Newcastle Crit – takes place on Wednesday evening, with Matt Bostock looking to make it three wins from three following victories in Otley and Abergavenny.
Bostock will be joined by his Canyon dhb p/b Bloor Homes team-mates Charlie Tanfield, Andy Tennant, Jacob Hennessy, Charles Page and Rory Townsend as he aims to further cement his place at the top of the standings. Chris Latham (Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brother UK) and George Wood (SwiftCarbon Pro Cycling) – who sit second and third respectively – will both be vying to make up ground on Bostock as the series reaches the halfway mark.
Jon Mould (Madison Genesis), Ed Clancy OBE (Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brother UK), Tom Pidcock (Team Wiggins Le Col) and 52 others will also take to the start line, as the city gears up to host a round of the series for the very first time. The race forms part of the Newcastle City Centre Cycle Races programme, with the circuit series scheduled to begin at 8pm.
This is the third of six rounds in the men’s series, with further races in Colne (July 16), Barnsley (July 19) and Sheffield (July 24) set to decide the series winner.
