Round 1 - Sherwood Pines Forest Park Promoted by Sherwood Pines Cycles Elite Races UCI Class 1
The series opener for the fourth successive year, Sherwood Pines is always one of the best supported events on the calendar. With the need to reduce the lap length to comply with current UCI requirements, the Forestry Commission’s Chris Bray has been busy during the autumn months re-establishing some old trails which will offer some new technical challenges to this old favourite.
Parking: Please park in the area designated for the event. Other parts of the Forest Park remain open to the public throughout the weekend. The normal venue parking charge applies.
Camping: The campsite is available from 3 pm on Friday 23rd March. Camping is free, and while the parking charge will apply, one payment will cover the whole weekend. The camping area must be vacated by 6 pm on the Sunday evening.
Cross Country Eliminator. This is scheduled to take place on the Saturday evening of each National Series round, based on the event arena and Sherwood Pines Cycles are putting up an impressive prize list for the first event. The event is open to any rider entered for the Sunday series events of junior age or older. There is an entry fee of £5, payable on the day. Riders may pre-register by e-mailing mtb@britishcycling.org.uk up to 12 noon Thursday 22nd March. Riders may also register on the day. Registration and payment of entry fees closes at 3:00 pm on the Saturday afternoon. Due to available light the qualifiers will be brought forward to 5:00 pm for this round.
Clocks. Don't forget that the clocks go forward between theSaturday and Sunday. Don't be late for your race!
