2011 Caersws Cup Downhill Series

If you want a to have some fun racing downhill then the Caersws Cup downhill race series is the one to do, with Prize Money for the overall Series, Glass trophies for all Podiums, Tag Huer Live Timing, Foam Pads for uplift, Great Atmosphere, Live Commentary, Free Team pits, Free Camping, Trade Stands, Catering and British Cycling Ranking Points - plus Video highlights after each race filmed by Ian from Boon Productions.

All 3 rounds count for overall Series Prize Money! All races have practice all day Saturday with extra 2 hours practice on Sunday with 2 race runs fastest time wins.  All riders are reseeded from the 1st place times.

Weekend Timing:

Saturday: Uplift Practice 10.00am - 4.00pm
Sunday : Practice 8.30am- 10.30am; Race Start (2 runs) 11.00am - 4.30pm

Location & History: Situated in the heart of beautiful Mid-Wales between Newtown and Machynlleth, Caersws is a private forest used for regional and national races over the past 9 years, we ran the first race at Caersws in 2003 which was won by Marc Beaumont riding for Royal Racing team. Since then six courses have build by the local riders to make this an ideal place to run a series on 6 different courses.

Age range from just 12 years old up to over 40+

Course: The Courses at Caersws are ideal for testing the abilities of all types of riders. The course for the first round is the original Midland Course that flows it way down the edge of the forest and finishes in the big open arena making this an ideal place for spectators to watch all the race action.

Live Timing: The latest Tag Huer timing system displays your time as you cross the finish line. Results are printed within 5 minutes at the end of each category. All riders are reseeded for the second race run.

Midland Down Hill Championship 2011: The Midland downhill champions will be crowned for each of the categories at the final round of the series on Sunday 30th October. This is open to anyone who lives in the midlands area as defined by British Cycling. This race will have Double BC ranking awarded.
