On the international mountain bike race circuit, Gary Perkin is one of three photographers who make up the dream team of image documentarians. Put simply, they make the sport what it is, for the thousands of fans who cannot be there.

So, here's Gary's take on the Brits at the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships - a week that started with Annie Last producing a stunning ride in the women's under-23 cross country.

For most of the race, Annie lead the field - only to get beaten to the line by Sweeden's Alexandra Engen.

Nonetheless, it was a stunning achievement by the British rider, who still has two years left in the u-23 ranks.

You can be in no doubt, with a face like that, Annie left it everything on the track.

From Last's medal in the cross country, to the first medal in the downhill - Lewis Buchanan taking Bronze in the Junior men's event.

Lewis joins a long list of successful British Junior Downhillers - including Danny Hart, Ruaridh Cunningham, Josh Bryceland, Brendan Fairclough - who now regularly mix it up at the top of the Senior ranks.

Katy Curd made a 2am-4am Saturday morning Freecaster session worthwhile - fourth in her first fourcross Worlds appearance - and it could have been even better. Those in the know recognise Katy is capable of the win in the near future...

Saturday night heralded the return of Liam Killeen. Still struggling in the opening two laps - but if he can find a way to be turbocharged in the early stages, the math says he'll be fit for a medal sometime soon.

But the final photos had to go to Tracy Moseley. We kept you scrolling almost as long as Tracy kept you waiting for that World Championship win - but after fifteen years she got the job done!

Tracy attempted her infamous champagne chug - but unlike in 2005(?) she came up short. Obviously the girl's losing it in her old age!

Until 2011 - and Champery!
