David Fletcher scored a career-best 14th in the under-23 cross country race, at the 2010 Mountain Bike World Championships.

Fletcher - who won the bronze medal as a Junior in 2007 at Fort William - improved significantly on his position last year, where he finished 29th.

In a race dominated by the Swiss national team, Fletcher retained consistent lap times and his position, the only small problem a bent disc-brake rotor.

His key aims will be defined in 2011, his final year as an under-23 rider and will likely revolve around gaining a gridded top sixty position in the World Cup and another strong performance in the World Championships.
